HGV 1 Tramper

Job Purpose:

Working within the transport and driving team to deliver a fist class service to our customers, ensuring their deliveries reach the destination in a safe and efficient way whilst adhering to transport and company regulations and requirements.

Location:

Based from our Bordesley Green Office.

General Responsibilities:

  • Representing the company in a professional, helpful and proactive manner to all potential, new and current customers
  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring you comply with statutory law, company policy & health & safety guidelines
  • Complying with company policies and processes, achieving KPI’s to improve cost and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements are complied with, for all customers.
  • Responsible for own load security and strapping ensuring a safe delivery.
  • Obtaining delivery confirmations from each customer via electronic or paper methods as required by the customer and ensuring these are returned safely to the transport office.
  • Reporting to traffic planners on potential incidents, delays and successful delivery ensuring they are advised if you are running behind schedule.
  • Conducting vehicle inspections before departure, recording via the app and reporting any defects to the transport office.
  • Delivering goods on assigned routes and adhering to timings and customer requirements.
  • Unloading goods as per client specifications, this may involve some manual handling or assisting the customer with unloading where required.
  • Participate in our ongoing driver assessment and CPC programmes and making driving improvements where required.
  • Promote a positive and supportive working environment for all employees.

Hours & Remuneration:

  • 20 days holiday+ 8 bank holidays
  • This is a Tramping role, working 5 days out of 7
  • £475 per week plus O/T and night out allowance.
  • £5 per day meal allowance (for over 5 hours worked)
  • Overtime rates; £12.50 per hour Monday – Friday, £14 per hour for Saturday £15.50 for Sunday.

General Responsibilities:

  • Following up previous days deliveries to ensure they were actioned correctly.
  • Entering costs of shipments onto system ready for invoicing
  • Collating of POD’s checking, filing & sending to customers if required
  • Creating customer KPI reports, feedback & suggesting changes where required.
  • Involvement in projects as required for continual improvement leading to increased profitability.

This is a full time position working 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Internal Sales Executive (closing date 8th April)

Candidate Profile:

A hard working, confident and enthusiastic candidate is required for this role who has proven experience of working in a telesales environment and is able to communicate effectively over the telephone with a personable approach.

Main purpose of the role:

Responsible for achieving and exceeding financial, appointment and outbound telesales covering all services offered by the company, targets as dictated by the line Manager and for maintaining and developing client base.

Job Role defined in detail

  • Making telesales calls (outbound) to potential clients, introducing the company, profiling and qualifying the prospect by way of using your knowledge of company’s portfolio of services offered. Gaining verified information and contacts names, qualifying the businesses potential use of transport services, recording the findings in the CRM system.
  • Sourcing sales leads using the Company’s in-house database or other sources of information.
  • Calling potential customers with a mind to converting them into customers towards you own financial target (based on Gross Profit TBC)
  • Preparation of quotations for presentation to the customer.
  • Converting prospective clients to live, trading clients.
  • Development of the business from existing or new customer base in order to achieve the GP target required of the individual.
  • Managing all facets of the accounts for which you are responsible, ensuring that credit limits are managed in line with Company standards, internal communication with all operational departments allows those departments to perform their roles correctly and in order to ensure delivery of our promises made to the customer.
  • Working within the LTS framework at all times to ensure continuous development.
  • Making regular contact with customers pro-actively to ensure that we are satisfying the needs of the customer and with a mind to developing further business opportunities from within that account.
  • Any other duty as required by your manager, from time-to-time.

Essential Skills, experience:

  • Previous Telesales experience essential
  • Outbound B2B Sales calls & Appointment making
  • Commercial experience on UK Transport/Ocean/Air/Road freight/quoting processes will be ideal.

Multimodal Operator (Closing date 8th April)

Main purpose of the role:

To provide shipping, transport and forwarding expertise across all modes (Ocean, Air and European Road), build and develop relationships with customers in order to generate and increase business. Understanding customers needs and requirements and promote internal solutions across LTS services range. To provide service information, quotations, take bookings and champion the needs of the customer.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1. To operate, provide service information, quotations, take bookings and champion the needs of the customer across all service modes (Ocean, Air and European Road).

2. To offer a high standard of customer service across all modes (Ocean/Air/Road), by providing accurate and appropriate information and demonstrating a professional, helpful and positive manner.

3. To handle shipments by Ocean, Air and Road forwarding operationally from start to finish, Protect the company from unpaid accounts by taking due note and following the company policies with regard to credit ratings and outstanding account balances.

4. To receive incoming enquiries and collect all the necessary information, to ensure bookings are correctly and accurately processed.

5. To process shipment information in a timely manner to prevent delays

6. Engage with customers and provide appropriate quotations. Follow up quotations and correspondence with customers using your best endeavors to secure business at all times.

7. To collate all the necessary information to ensure any order progress enquiries from customers are dealt with efficiently and kept informed of the status of the order at all times.

8. To work in conjunction with Sales to develop and secure new business and also through your own initiative generate leads with a view to work alongside your line manager/sales in-order the account is secured.

9. To demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of Customs Regulations/Dangerous Goods/Insurance rules; determine whether goods are subject to any of these special requirements ensure adherence and be capable of providing advice to customers as necessary.

10. To liaise with customs brokers when required, providing them with accurate information to ensure goods are quickly cleared for import/export in accordance with the Customer’s requirements.

11. To undertake any general office duties required, including typing, filing, to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the department.

12. To alert the Line Manager of any pending claims and collate information to process any claims promptly and professionally, in accordance with Company procedures.

13. To deal with any communication into and out of the department in a customer focused professional manner.

14. To build and maintain effective business relationships with colleagues throughout the business.

15. To ensure that all activities operate within LTS Distribution policies and procedures and to demonstrate a commitment to these through their own working practices.

16. To ensure that all documentation, records and systems are accurate and kept up to date.

17. To prepare and present information for LTS management team, based upon agreed target parameters, as required.

18. To comply with the Health and Safety statement and the Q.I procedures in all areas of responsibility.

19. To carry out such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job purpose and level of responsibility and offer support to other departments when required.

Essential Skills, experience:

✓ Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in international Ocean, Air, Road freight operation across key markets (FCL/LCL, Airfreight, and EU Import/Exports).
✓ Commercial experience of Ocean/Air/Road freight buying/quoting processes.
✓ Good inter-personal skills (written and verbal).
✓ Ability to demonstrate analytical and logical thinking
